Occasioni yamaha tracer 900
Last September I participated in the Three Flags Classic, an endurance ride from Mexico to Canada totaling more than 5, miles read about it her eand had my pick of motorcycles on which to do it. I needed something comfortable, of course, but also wanted some cornering clearance for when things got twisty, plenty of luggage space and an athletic, upright riding position in case we encountered gravel or dirt which we did. Before I left, however, we needed to address some minor touring shortcomings and prepare the bike for its adventure.
So off the Tracer went to Yamaha to be outfitted with a Yamaha accessory comfort seat and taller touring windscreen, along with a set of new Dunlop Roadsmart III tires and some DP Brakes sintered pads that would offer better bite and feedback than the stock pads. When it came back a couple of weeks later, we discovered Yamaha had gone above and beyond by also adding a radiator guard, front fender extender, engine case guards, a larger rear rack and a full Yoshimura exhaust system.
Almost 5, miles later, I was grateful and impressed with everything…with the exception of the exhaust. Its sporty, aggressive song became tiring and abrasive, even with earplugs, after eight-plus daily hours of high-speed droning. Everything else, though, made a good sport tourer a great one.
The Dunlops especially impressed me, proving to stick faithfully regardless of temperature or road condition, including rain, sleet and slush, and even after my ride they were only just starting to square off and had plenty of tread left. My only remaining niggle is that the footpegs are set fairly far back, resulting in a sporty knee bend that could get tiresome. Otherwise, though, our kitted-out Tracer turned out to be a solid sport-touring machine that inspires me to wonder: where shall I go next?
Hello Jenny, This is a wonderful article.
2021 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT Packs A New 890cc Punch
Hi Gonzo! You can absolutely share this as well as the full report on the ride itself linked to in this article.
Yes, we did. The lowest fuel economy we got was The bike takes 91 octane gas. Thanks very much. I commute 70 miles a day and would love to get a bike that gives me 3 day fuel endurance. My current Bonneville gets the exact same mileage as my Buell Uly 45 but does it on 87 octane vs.
Having to fill up every other day is tedious. FJR is consistently good for plus. Get an accessory trunk to stow riding suit and helmet goes in one of the bags. Perfect commuter setup. My commute includes 2 miles of gravel each way. The worst days are heavy rain after road grading. The bikes are totally revised compared to the previous models and feature a new engine, frame, swingarm, R1-derived six-axis IMU, and all-new styling and design. The increase in cc has been attained by creating a new long-stroke version of the CP3, stretching the stroke by 3mm and gifting the unit an extra 43cc.
The chassis of the new bike is an area that been massively updated for this year and is claimed to be lighter and more compact than before.Hough h65c loader specs
The engine is also mounted in the frame at an increased angle, something that Yamaha is claiming will improve the new machines handling dynamics. Complimenting the new frame is a redesigned swingarm that features new swingarm mounting pivots. Another feature of the machine to undergo a very thorough overhaul is the electronics of the model. It governs the ABS and traction control and allows the rider to manage a host of new and updated assistance systems including traction control, slide control, wheelie control, and brake control — cornering ABS.
The bike features four riding modes to suit most applications from wet weather to sports riding. The system can only be engaged at 40mph and in gears four and above. Once engaged, the speed of the bike can be adjusted in 2kph increments. Yamaha has confirmed the rims are the lightest ever on one of its production bikes, with some areas of the rim being just 2mm thick.
The most noticeable change for the bike is the completely redesigned styling. Pretty much every panel has been redesigned, with the new sleek fairing being the main element of change. One very interesting element of the bike is the design of the TFT dash. The left screen shows the rider key information about the bike, speed, gear, riding modes, and so on.
The righthand screen is divided into four sections and can show the rider a range of information selected by them. It features all the updates as the stock bike, with a host of touring specific additions to make long-distance riding substantially more comfortable.

Hard cases come as standard on the model, each able to take a full-face helmet and have a free-floating design to aid aerodynamics. The top-spec model also gains KYB semi-active electronic suspension that is controlled by the already updated IMU system. An up and down quickshifter is also included on the GT variant, along with LED cornering lights, heated grips, and dedicated paint schemes. Pricing as yet is TBC. Skip to main content.

Longer distances in the saddle are also easy, while plenty of wind protection belies a nimble and light feeling package.
The Tracer is a bit of a chimera to be honest. You do need the throttle closed to switch between modes, rather than other systems where you can change the selection then lock it in by closing the throttle. The adjustable screen is also a one hand job on the move and a nice feature on the open road.Accetta means what in english
As mentioned above, the ride modes themselves offer significantly altered throttle response, with Standard mode a fair bit doughier.
A-mode in comparison is more instantaneous and aggressive, but obviously much more light-switch like. Traction control comes standard with three levels of adjustment and I left it on 1 for the various conditions I encountered over the test period, without any early or inconvenient activation, even when taking photos and occasionally venturing over slippery or gravelly sections.
ABS is standard, while a few more advanced features, like cruise control and a quickshifter up only are found on the up-spec GT edition, which also boasts a TFT display, hard panniers, fully adjustable suspension and heated grips. The frame, wheels and engine in black ensure a clean overall look, with just the exhaust system and foot controls standing out.
LED headlights also include daytime running lights to add a bit more character to that front end. More substantial changes include a new aluminium swingarm and revised rear shock settings for further optimised touring performance, while also allowing for the fitment of genuine panniers without any clearance issues.Burdened land definition
The Tracer despite being relatively tall feels light and nimble on the move, with great overall balance. Firing up the bike and taking a quick look at the dash reveals a central display with the usual suspects and a secondary dash that looks like something that belongs on a Dakar bike and includes a gear indicator and trip counters. The clutch lever is easy enough to operate to neither be judged light nor heavy, while the gearbox is pretty slick and only a little clunky down low, with solid engagement and obviously no quick shifter.
Switching to A-mode however, once the road and traffic opens up a little the more, and the familiar punch of acceleration and more instant throttle response reappears. That power just goes on and on as well, well past the staid limits of our road system and into the realm of giggling thrill induced insanity.Create japanese email address
The Tracer features a refined RbW system, with ride modes delivering significantly different characteristics. On the smoother twisties A-mode provides the most instant throttle response and is obviously the sport mode. When the going did get really rough, I did find myself switching back to Standard mode though. Suspension is on the sporty side on the Tracerwith preload and rebound adjustability at both ends. The suspension, which offers rebound and preload adjustability at both ends, comprises of 41mm forks and a monoshock, and offers a relatively sporty ride, with some initial softness in the forks that firms up later in the stroke.
On the smoother roads I found it ideal, especially having a fang through the twisties with good stability on the front brakes into turns, while over the really rough Aussie roads the compression became harsh further through that stroke and was at times noticeable mid corner.
The dual disc brakes on the Tracer feature mm rotors and four-piston calipers, with good power and modulation. The rear was relatively well controlled too, although over the really big bumps the rebound would occasionally struggle, and the lack of an external preload adjuster was a little disappointing, just as a quality of life addition, but is probably me being pedantic. Trailing the brakes into corners is easy, and transitions on and off the brakes also smooth.
On really sudden heavy braking and in traffic coming to a stop there was a bit of a tendency to get some dive in the forks with my late braking technique, but a more restrained approach kept everything smooth. Quite a contrast to most new bikes. As is now common, the front fairing and tank are dominant in styling, with the seat unit tapering off to a point, complete with taillight.
When seated on the bike, the fairing and tank are quite bulbous, dominating. This is an impression only and soon fades away…. The front suspension with its adjustable pre-load and rebound damping is very effective at soaking up most road shocks, but when encountering very rough areas of bitumen transfer every little ripple and surface defect straight through into the rider. The front suspension also seemed to freeze at around half stroke when banked over in some corners, which was disconcerting.
The bike steers well at all speeds however, aided by the wide higher set handlebars and goes where it is pointed and in doing so exhibits a neutral manner. In traffic the Tracer is still capable of threading down between stopped lines of cars, while out on the open road it really is in its element.Does that mean the overall bike is lighter in weight, though?
Fuel capacity increases from 4. Other creature comfort upgrades to make you much happier when spending long hours in the saddle include standard heated grips and cruise control. Stopping power is enhanced with the addition of a Nissin radial front brake master cylinder for Twin 3.
On paper, there are a lot of improvements to admire in the new bike—but as always, the true test will be in the hands of riders and how they feel about it. On the other hand, the 9 GT is 28 pounds lighter than the Ninja and built with a rider triangle much more appealing to those with plans for long hours in the saddle. Yamaha also put a lot of work into refining power delivery and creating a more comfortable and nimble chassis.
Hopes will be high for the electronically controlled KYB suspension on the 9 GT, which would go a long way to improving the overall feel of the bike when compared to the old Plus, there are huge steps forward with the electronics, such as the new six-axis IMU, ride-by-wire, lean-angle-sensitive traction control, slide control wheelie control, improved ABS, and cornering LED lights.
For context, here are some bikes you could get that are less than the Tracer 9 GT. The bike in that list that may be closest in output and spirit is a bag-equipped F XR. The F XR also has a commendable suspension package and decent brakes. I just wonder if it will prove its value to consumers who fork over the cash.
